My Dear Meta1;

Some three weeks ago I sent to you all a box of the Holy Family figures, a crèche, as the French say, for your Christmas. I ordered them months ago through Mary Elizabeth, of N.Y.4

In her note about the transfer pictures Margaret5 did not mention having received the box. If it is not here when you receive this, please let me know. I hope they MEMO to_____ date___

do get there, for I love them. I brought a set for this home6, too. Tell the girls7 to go out to Acoma8 and get a lot of soft green spruce boughs and line a wooden store box with them, and then arrange the Holy family inside, like a little stage setting. I just love the three kings and I know you will.

Douglass9 and I are nearly worn out with interior decorating in zero weather. New carpets all over the upstairs, new paper in mother's10 rooms and Elsie's11. We've been like children playing home—it all seems so awfully important while you're at it. And now we're both so tired we must take a day off!

With love from all of us to all12 of you Willa
