Please urge the Plimpton Press4 to make these corrections on the plates5 now, so they will be ready for the next printing. There will certainly be printings for some time to come, as the Catholic schools have taken the book up vigorously, and I will never consent to a text-book edition.

Individual Annotations
Grosvenor Hotel (New York City): When Cather and Edith Lewis lost their 5 Bank Street apartment in 1927, they moved into the Grosvenor Hotel, where they continued to live until 1932. The hotel was located at 35 Fifth Avenue in the Manhattan borough of New York City.
The Plimpton Press, located in Norwood, MA, printed and bound Death Comes for the Archbishop and other Cather titles published by Alfred A. Knopf, Inc.
Person Annotations
Stimson, George Mirick (1882-1950). Printer employed at Alfred A. Knopf, Inc. Born in Ponta Delgada in the Azores to an American father and an English mother, by 1916 George Stimson was working as a printer at the Riverside Press of the Houghton Mifflin Co. In the late 1920s, he worked in the production department of Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., and Willa Cather corresponded with him about design and printing issues. By 1942 he had left Knopf for the Macmillan Co.
