Call for Papers on Willa Cather:
American Literature Association 2014, May 22-25, Washington DC

The Willa Cather Foundation solicits proposals for 20-minute papers for a sponsored panel at the American Literature Association's annual conference in May, 2014.

We seek the best in contemporary Cather scholarship, including (but not limited to)

• new readings made possible by the 2013 publication of the Selected Letters
• re-assessments of Cather among the literary contemporaries and others;
• innovative approaches to Cather's form, and to her understanding of literary form;
• Cather's nonfiction: her poetry, journalism, essays, etc.;
• reading Cather's humanism in a posthumanist - or posthuman - age.

Please send 250-300 word proposals for papers to John Swift, swifty@oxy.edu, by 5 pm on Friday, December 20th.Proposals should include your name, affiliation, your presentation title and contact information. Please contact John Swift with any inquiries.

The American Literature Association's 25th annual conference will meet at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill on May 22-25, 2014 (Thursday through Sunday of Memorial Day weekend).
