As I wrote you, the exercises at Columbia were really very diginfied and impressive, and I was glad that you and Mary3 persuaded me to accept,- that day when we went after watercress, wasn't it? June 5 was a rainy day, however, and the degrees were conferred in a crowded hall instead of in the open, so there were no pictures taken.
I am so glad to hear about the new roof for the church4. I find stained glass a difficult thing to go shopping for, and I have decided to let Father's5 window6 go over until next fall, when I hope I will have more energy. On Monday Edith7 and I go up to our island8, and for two months my address will be Whale Cove, Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Canada.Canada.
We will have to furnish and settle our little house before I can get to work, which is a disadvantage, but it has to be settled sometime. I hope Mother's9 house10 does not look desolate, and that Amos11 is keeping the yard neat.
I am sending you a package of books for the Library12,- just some I happened to have. The one on American authors by English critics13 I want the Library to have because it treats your own author14 very well. Also I'm sending you my Columbia diploma; the lettering, all by hand, is lovely.
With my love to you and yours Willie
