⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ FG Dear Ferris Greenslet1;

Thank you from my heart for your kind and understanding letter3. It helps me a great deal just now not to be blamed for things I really cannot undertake. On March 26th Isabelle McClung Hambourg4 landed, very seriously ill5—the same sort of thing Galsworthy6

She is a most comfortable hotel in this same block, and my doctor is attending her. Her husband7 leaves next week for a six weeks' tour in Canada8 with the Hambourg Trio9. Isabelle has no relatives in this part of the world, and while he is away the responsibility will be mine. You will know how nearly all this touches my heart.

Faithfully yours Willa Cather
