Why, she’s a perfect charmer, is Miss Mary Kiley3! She must be one of those children who go straight to one’s heart. I seem to feel the kind of child she is, even from a photograph. No question that she has “a happy disposition”. There must be a kind of personal sweetness about that child. I’m so sorry the picture didn’t get here on Christmas eve, when Mary Virginia4 and Dick5 dined here with me. Now I can’t show it to Virginia for another week. She is working hard, and I have a solid week of teas and dinners. I try to finish them off in a bunch, and then go into seclusion for a long time.
With love to you1 and “Kiley”! W. S. C.
