Dear Roscoe1;

Am Writing at the Chase Bank. I have just credited your note with a your check for one thousand dollars.

No, I do not need any further payment on this note now.

As to the cashier's check from the Ocean Front5, I will write you soon why I felt a little cautious about that. The Government once made trouble about a check from Barclays, England6, made out with the date of one year, but not reaching me until the following year.

This note is just to let you know that I have made the proper credit on your note. I have been hard driven ever since my return, but I manage to keep well by staying in bed from lunch until dinner time. I look forward to seeing dear little Margaret7 very soon. (Not baby Margaret8, your Margaret)

Love to you and Meta9 W.

I like that photograph of Meta very much. She looks like a person—not just a female.
