My Dear Virginia1;

I'm just back from Chicago5 and have time for a word only.

Would you like to come to New York2 as my guest for the Christmas Vacation? I would put you up at the Smith Club6, and we could do things together when I had time. I won't have much time, but I don't want to have your last Holiday Vacation slip by without a visit to New York. Mary Virginia7 would give you as much time as she could, and perhaps you would have some friends at the Smith Club. I am rushing this line off to you so that you won't tie up with other engagements if you would rather come to New York.

Chicago was pretty awful8, but I did enjoy meeting some old friends9.

With love to you, my dear, Willa Cather
