Dear Mr. Ferrero1;

The Standard Oil articles4 were eventually published in book form5 by the S. S. McClure Company. We have recently sold our book business, and are therefore unable to send you new copies of the book. Mr. McClure6 asks me to send you the volumes from his private library, and begs you to accept them with his good wishes and greetings. He returned to America7 only a few days ago.

Very cordially yours Willa Sibert Cather
