FG 3 NUMBER FIVE BANK STREET3 Dear Mr. Greenslet1:

On the whole both Dr. Archie and I are happier without the governorship4, and are grateful to you for being stern and strong minded.

I sent Miss Van Tuyll5 a suggestion for the text on the jacket of the book6. Will you ask her to show it to you? I hope you will use it. I think a jacket ought to announce alluring material.

I've sent back 33 galleys of proof7—more to follow this week. It's very dirty, I'm sorry to say. Even though you don't permit page proof8 corrections any more, do you suppose you could send me proofs of the pages so that I could assure myself that the galley corrections have been properly made? I would promise to make no new corrections.

Faithfully Willa S. Cather
