NUMBER FIVE BANK STREET3 Dear Mrs. Austin1:

How nice you were to remember me at Christmas time! I have been back from France4 only a few weeks, and I hope you can come in to see me soon on a Friday afternoon.

I was so glad and proud that you liked Antonia5. I don't know when anything has made me feel so "chesty" as your letter6 to Greenslet7 about that book. It was one of the best things that happened to me this winter.

Faithfully yours Willa Cather
