I do not think there is anything from Ethelbert Nevin3's life in the story4 you speak of, but, since you recognize it there, there must be something of his personality. I knew him for a short time before his death, when I was very young. I was just out of school, and he was the first artist I had ever known, so he made a deep impression upon me. I shall always remember him as a figure full of charm and grace; and am deeply grateful to have recalled for a moment that vanished charm to two people who loved him.
