NUMBER FIVE BANK STREET3 My dear Mr. Vinsonhaler1:

I am glad you remembered your promise, or at least the request I made you, and let me hear from you after you read my new book4. I asked you to read it once, and, lo, you tell me you read it three times.! That's good measure certainly. I can honestly say that though I had to read it a good many times myself, my interest never flagged but kept up through a second reading of the page proofs. I don't know when I have wanted anything so much as I wanted to get that boy across to people.

If I am in Omaha5 late this autumn as I hope to be, I shall depend on the Newbranches6 to give me another opportunity of seeing you.

Very cordially yours, Willa Cather
Mr. Duncan M. Vinsonhaler1, First National Bank Building, Omaha, Nebraska5. NEW YORK,N.Y.STA.C2 Jul 10 1916 130PM Willa Cather
