NUMBER FIVE BANK STREET3 Dear Irene1;

I expect to leave New York2 Sunday morning, the 26th, by the New York Central, and get into Chicago4 Monday morning. If it is quite convenient for you I would spend Monday night with you, and start Tuesday afternoon on Number One for Red Cloud5. Will you please reserve a lower for me for that date? I hope you can go with me, we could get in a good little visit. I haven't got a N.Y. Central time table yet, but I'll let you know on which train I'll reach Chicago. I have one or two errands at book stores, the rest of the time I can be with you.

I am up and about a little, but am still rather sore in the chest and go a slow pace. I do thank God you are going to be in Red Cloud with me. I fell as if, if I got into a scrape with pleurisy or anything else, you'd somehow get me out! I've written Isabelle6 that you'll be there, so she wont worry so much. If it's difficult to have me at your house just when you're packing to go away, just drop me at the Auditorium, won't you?

With my love Willie
