Dear Mr. Reynolds1:

I am the fussy sort of person who can't write to order3 with any enthusiasm. I shall probably do some short stories this winter, and if I do I can promise to let your client have the first look at them. More than that I can't promise. I am returning to New York4 early in January and will call you up. In the meantime thank you cordially for considering my interests.

Faithfully yours Willa Cather
