My Dearest Irene1:

Do not worry because my "get-away" from Chicago3 was somewhat hasty4!—I was not a bit fussed—I let you do all the hurrying, and I had as good a trip as if I'd had half an hour at the station. If only you didn't hurt your back carrying my heavy suit case, all is well. I only hope I can repeat my lovely visit with you very soon. Miss Lewis5 sends her love—we start for Grand Manan6 Friday morning.
