FRED HARVEY EL ORTIZ LAMY NEW MEXICO Dear Mrs. Luhon1:

I find an unsent letter3 to you still in my writing-case. I held it back to write a less scrappy note, and of course wrote none at all. My friend4 and I are just drifting about down here2—We'll be at the San Gabriel Ranch5 near Espanola6 while I read the proofs of my new book7, then will go to the country about Albuquerque8. I expect to go to Taos9, but we won't be in any one place long enough to take a home.

I'm hoping to see you before the summer is over.

Cordially yours Willa Cather
