⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ Dear Mrs. Whicher1:

I love your letter. I have only time for a half word, but I must send you a letter from the kind of English teacher that drives me almost mad. I get a good many of this sort - some even more desolating than this, and still I am supposed to answer them politely! Oh, I had a lovely time with you. I do envy Mary Virginia4 her chance to run in and see the little boys5.

A Merry, Merry Christmas to you all6.

Very cordially yours, Willa Cather
Mrs. George Whicher1, 46 Amity Street, Amherst, Mass.3 [illegible]TERN STA. N. Y.2 DEC 24 1925 7:30 PM
