⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ Nov 8 My Dear Blanche1;

Unless4 I should have an attack of inspiration (which isn't likely) I will be in New York5 before your sailing date. Shall you be back before the first of the year?

Please reply6 to this tiresome man7 for me; tell him I can't give him permission to print one of my books, and that you don't care to.

I arrived only last night, but I hope to get down to work8 in a few days. The weather is glorious and I shall walk a lot.

Tell Mr. Stimson9 that since we are in for this disappointing illustrated "Archbishop"10, I do beg him to get it out in plenty of time11 for the Christmas sale. It's our only chance of playing even.

Yours W. S. C.
