⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ My Dearest Zoë1;

Your wonderful crucifix has made me so homesick for the Southwest3! What a touching and powerful thing it is—just the color of the poor believers in their little tawny houses. It's a precious thing to have in New York2. Thank you, with all my heart. I'll be in California4 in February. Tonight I am leaving for Quebec5 to spend the New Year week. It will be lovely up there now—Miss Lewis6 goes with me and we're taking a trunk full of coats and sweaters. There are mountains of snow over all that country now. I'll drink your health in very good champagne tomorrow night, dear Zoë.

With love Willa
