Dear Carrie1;

Please send me just a line here and tell me if you like the new book3, and whether you got the degree-hoods4 I mailed to you just before I left New York5. The new book is selling splendidly6, but some of the New York critics are knocking it pretty hard7. I enclose a review8 from the "Atlantic"9 which will have a good deal of influence10.

My love to you Willie
