Dear Carrie1;

I am sending you a small box of clothing which I want you to keep for me until I come. You need not hang them up, just leave them in the box as they are.

I expect to get to Red Cloud4 about the first of December, and Lizzie Huffman5 will meet me there and keep house for me unless something unforeseen happens. I am making a good many sacrifices to carry out my plan, because it seems to me that just now I want to have a month at home with my old friends more than I want anything else in the world.
