My Dearest Zoë1

Such a romantic mimosa tree you sent me! It makes the whole apartment3 look like the South and I thank you a thousand times.

I went shopping for an hour yesterday and bought a new red coat from Mrs. Corbett4. She and Mary Virginia5 both approved of it, so I suppose it's all right. Today I spent at the Bank and tomorrow I spend with a lawyer, and on Saturday6 I go to the Boston Symphony with Alfred7. I'm gradually getting through with the heavy tasks—windows washed, curtains up. You'll hear from me very soon.

With love Willa
