⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ Dearest Blanche1;

I've just opened several packages that came from the office last week (I'd put them neatly in a closet3 and forgot them) and one is JAM from you! You must think me an ungrateful creature, to pocket or devour devour homemade jam with never a word to thank you.

I'm not generally so slow about opening packages, either, but last week I began to work at my desk and I pushed everything else into corners and closets. But the jam was discovered in time for my tea today!

Yours Always W. S. C.
