It was nice to hear from you3. I really haven't had time to notice whether Knopf4 has advanced the publication date or not. I will tell you my plans briefly, so that you will know where I am. For the next two weeks I will be with Isabelle Hambourg5 in Chicago6. Her husband7 is giving master classes in the Bush Music School there, and she is quite alone at the Hotel Del Prado, out on the edge of the lake in Hyde Park. I have reservations on the Berengaria for July 26th, and if Isabelle continues to hold her own8, I will sail on that date. The Hambourgs, themselves, will follow a few weeks later. I shall join them in Paris9, after my return from Venice10, where I have a long postponed business engagement. I have been under a pretty sharp nervous strain ever since the Hambourgs landed, March 26th, and I think a few days at sea will pull me up.Faithfully yours, Willa Cather
Thank you for the Tauchnitz11 books.
