I seldom present people with my own books—I don't think it's in very good taste. But I would like to send Dick3's mother one4 for a New Year's card. I don't often feel as well satisfied with a piece of work as I do with the second story5 in this volume. The simplest is always the most difficult. You have to wait for it and catch it asleep.
