⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ Darling Yaltah1;

Perhaps you have forgotten that you asked me for a certain book and that I promised to send it to you. I like to keep my promises, and am sending the book today. I wrote your name and Hephzibah4's on the fly leaf, but this is a wet, sticky day, and the ink ran and made a mess of the inscription.

My dearest love to mother5, father3, Yehudi6, and the two of you.

Willa Cather
