⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ Dear Lydia1;

I am sending your mother3 a quilted house-coat, to be worn over her dress on cold days. I have two just like it, except that mine are blue and rose-color. On cold days I waer wear them at my desk when I am stting still at my desk. I never get chilly when I am moving around. Now don’t let her save this robe, make her wear it, please. On cold nights she can wear it over her nightgown.

I wish you all a Happy Christmas, and I only wish I could be with you. I would have loved to send your mother a pretty dress if only I had known her size.

Your true friend Willa Cather

P.S. Please, never, my dear girls4, give my New York2 address5 to anyone. I give my residence address only to a few old friends, like yourselves.
