⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ Dear Miss Clark1:

I appreciate very much the kind offer of the College to reserve a suite for me in the Ellen Emerson House3, and I thank them for their courtesy. I have, however, requested Mr. Whicher4 to make reservations for me and my friend Miss Lewis5 at South Hadley6.

I do not own an academic gown simply because the universities where I have taken degrees have always supplied them. I shall be obliged if you can supply me with a cap and gown for this occasion. I will get a tailor to make the required measurements and return the blank from Cotrell and Leonard to you early next week.

Very sincerely yours, Willa Cather
