⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ My Dear Meta1;

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the twins'5 visit, or how much I love them. We can do things together without any friction at all, and understand each other even when we have different opinions. Miss Lewis6 enjoyed them about as much as I did, and all the people here liked them. After they left Miss Gissing7, who manages a fashionable girls' boarding school in Canada8, asked me what school they attended. I told her the University of Colorado. "Well," said she, "they didn't get their nice manners there. They got those at home." I write to tell you that, dear Meta. You did a good job, and you had good material to work on. For where manners are really nice, they come out of a nice nature. You will let them come to me here again sometime, won't you? I am already hoping that it may be next summer, after I get back from a spring in England9.

With love and thanks to you and Roscoe10 Willie
