⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ k 8/17 My Dear Alfred1;

The proofs3 came4 from the Plimpton Press, and they look very handsome. I shall send them direct to you when I have done with them. I am so glad to hear that Blanche5 has gone away6 for a rest. I am enjoying this island2 and my funny little house as I never did before.

Yours W. S. C.

Please have one copy of "Shadows on the Rock"7 sent to me here.
