My Dear Bess1:

Many thanks for your nice long letter. I could see it all just as if I were there. I think Ross4 is an awful idiot to go work hard and then spend his money on in guns and cowboy belts and pistols just like Kyd Clutter5 and Will Andrews6. I'll bet Jim7 wanted to go.

Elsie Love8 was married last week. Much fuss and feathers. Lena Gore9 wrote me about it. Uncle Sibert10 looks older than grandma11 when she died, I do believe. I am awful sorry I did'nt get to see Auntie Sister12, but Bess I was dead tired and worn out and I did'nt go a single place but Auntie Gores13 & Perry Gores14. You see I just could'nt take Isabelle15 to Katies.16 The Lord knows I'm not stuck up, and I would'nt have minded taking to Nan's17, but Katie is too much for me.

Much love to you, dear old Bess, and to all the naughty kids & goats Willie
