⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ My dear Miss Guerber1:

I wonder if the trustful Denver3 Library would send me "The History of New Mexico"4 by Horatio Ladd5 (?), published in The Stories of the States series by Lothrop6. Since I came East, I have advertised for it continuously in New York2 and Boston7, and have been unable to get it. I would be awfully grateful if you would let me keep it for a few weeks. I am dashing off to Chicago8 to give my lecture9 - sweet diversion.!

Always affectionately yours, Willa Cather
