⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ Dear Trix3 and Sidney Florance4;

Mother5 wants me to thank you for your beautiful letter6 to her. It was one of so many warm and affectionate attentions that I feel this winter has brought you both closer to us than you have ever been before—and we have always been close friends. Close friends is a homely phrase, but it means a great deal in this world.

Mother is going to California7 with Douglass8, but I will stay on a few days to close the house9, and I will surely see you.

Yours always Willa
