My very dear Friends1;

I heard, just before I left home,4 that another5 father6 had gone, and that this time it was Sidney's. Remember that you are often in my thoughts, and keep me in yours. I have not been very well, but the kind doctors here tell me there is nothing serious the matter, and that I will soon be better. I go East tonight.

With many loving memories of our long friendship, Willa Cather
