⬩W⬩S⬩C⬩ My dear Miss Shotwell1:

Thank you heartily for your friendly letter. I am sending you a photograph4 taken four years ago5 when I was studying some of the cliff dweller ruins in the southwest6. All my more recent ones have been published many times and I think perhaps you would like to have one that has not been used7 for publicity.

May I ask you to send it back to me when you are through with it, as I have no duplicates of this one.

Surely the public library doesn't need any commendation from anyone, does it? Don't we all know that it is one of the most successful and really helpful things that has come with democracy.

Very cordially yours,Willa Sibert Cather Miss Margaret C. Shotwell, 3224 Poppleton Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska8.
