passage written by Cather on separate enclosure. | written text |
I think I have all the missing papers. Guy3 brought the contents (Scientifically Christian contents) of the safe up here one night in a bag. The stuff was in a sad, sad mess and I snatched what seemed most valuable as almost everything that I needed had already been lost. I'd rather trust my trunk than the McClure safe any day. I did not know then who was responsible for what, so I grabbed to save. I'll get the things you ask about together within a day or two and mail them to you—I shall be glad if you can find some cyclone cellar in the safe to put them in. But the picture of Asa G.4 I have never seen since you first showed it to me. You must get that from Mr. Russell5.
Did you ever meet S. B. G.Corser6 of Boscawen N.H.7? If you know anything whatever about him will you please write and enlighten me.
I'll be glad to see Ellen Terry8 back9 in our sheet10 in October. September is dismal enough11. Harry Orchard12 and M. B. G. Eddy13—Faith, they're a fair to draw to!
Faithfully Willa CatherThe letters that went to Chandler14 were from Col. Sabin15 in Washington16.
The question by W. W. Wright17 and answer by M. B. G. E. must be in the safe—I am sure that Guy took them back with the stuff I did not need.
